FAQ

Questions we get often

If yours isn’t here, ask us on WhatsApp.

How fit do I need to be?

Each program page says how active the days are. Australis and Puelo Short are easy. Puelo Deep asks the most: several hours a day on a horse, on foot or in a packraft. If you’re unsure, write to us and tell us what you usually do.

When do the programs run?

Mostly during the southern summer, roughly from spring to early autumn. Each program page shows its own season.

What happens if the weather is bad?

Patagonia weather changes fast, and the guides and lodges change the day’s plan around it. On the Australis cruise, landings depend on sea conditions and the captain decides. If the weather stops a program from starting, we work out the options with you.

How do I pay, and what is the cancellation policy?

You get one quote and pay us directly, not each lodge. We send the payment options and cancellation terms with your quote.

How do I get to the start of a program?

Every program starts in Punta Arenas, Puerto Varas or Coyhaique. We pick you up there and bring you back at the end. Send us your flight or bus times and we’ll plan the transfer around them.

Can you book a hotel for the night before the program?

Yes. We can add one hotel night in Punta Arenas, Puerto Varas or Coyhaique before your program starts, with the transfer to the departure point in the morning. Ask us for the price with your quote.

What should I pack, and where do I leave the rest of my luggage?

Pack for the program, not for the whole trip: one soft bag with layers, rain gear and walking shoes. We send a packing list for your program when you book, and we can arrange somewhere to leave the luggage you don’t need.

Is it OK with kids?

It depends on the program. Horse riding, packraft and some excursions have minimum ages set by the lodges and guides. Tell us the ages of your kids and we’ll tell you which programs work.

Can I combine a program with a camper trip?

Yes. If you’re travelling with Yeti Campers, you can leave the van at their base while you’re on the program and pick it up when you’re back.

Do you speak English?

Yes. We answer in English and Spanish, and the guides on these programs work in English.
